Print of a Tortoise and Lion Cub. Thanks to all who took part in the competition to name this print. The competition was won by Karryl Salit!
Highly social animals, lions form strong bonds, forming large prides. Prides have been known to consist of up to 30 lions. They are very affectionate with one another. Typically, there is only one dominant male, who fathers all the lion cubs in a pride, but sometimes other males are tolerated. However, fathers will usually chase off their male cubs once they reach maturity. Their social hierarchy is not clearly established, with the male lion mating with several females.
